Investing into Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future
BURSA, TURKEY (Jan. 11, 2024) – One of Bursa's foremost industrial organizations, Akyapak, proudly announces the completion of its renewable energy project, a solar power plant now operational atop its production facility. This initiative underscores Akyapak's ongoing commitment to sustainability, a commitment initiated in 2021 and actualized in 2022.
Levent Akyapak, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Akyapak Makine, proudly notes that within six months of operation, the solar power plant produced an impressive 882,670 kWh of electricity. This reduced the facility's dependence on traditional energy sources by 99%, in essence, sourcing nearly all of the facility's energy needs from the sun.
"While we continue to power industries, our machines also get their power from the sun,” said Akyapak. “This sustainable shift doesn't just address our power requirements, but also allows us to make substantial strides in minimizing our carbon footprint.”
Indeed, over the past five months, the solar power plant prevented as much as 582 tonnes of carbon emissions. To put that in perspective, this is equivalent to the carbon offset of thousands of trees. But for Akyapak, the commitment doesn't stop at energy efficiency; it extends to an overall concern for ecological preservation and a better future.
"The greatest legacy we will leave is our commitment to green energy,” said Akyapak. “As Akyapak, we show the necessary sensitivity to this issue and try to ensure the effective and efficient use of resources in all our business processes.”
